Award winning Aberdeenshire distillery GlenDronach, has released The Hielan, a new 8 Year Old Highland single malt expression.
Launched as a lead into their portfolio of aged whisky expressions and in a bid to fill what the brand believes is a gap in the age market.
GlenDronach – The Hielan (46% ABV) is a heartfelt tip of the hat to the Forgue Distillery, the spiritual Highland home of GlenDronach, founded in 1826 by the inventor, pioneer and entrepreneur James Allardice.

This latest addition to the GlenDronach range was specially selected by Master Blender Billy Walker, and has been matured and married in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. Resulting in what is said to be a phenomenally fragrant whisky, delivering notes of orange blossom, golden sultanas, ripe yellow plums and vanilla on the nose, followed by vibrant oak spices, warm soaked sultanas, apricot jam and gingerbread on the palate.
GlenDronach – The Hielan 8 Year Old, will be available globally from specialist retailers later this month for a RRP of £33.99.
