Diageo has announced the release of Talisker Dark Storm, the smokiest whisky produced by the Skye distillery to date.
Created exclusively for travel retail, Talisker Dark Storm is a 45.8%abv Single malt Scotch matured in heavily charred oak casks for flavours of “blackcurrant, liquorice and powerful smoke”.
The release follows that of Talisker Storm, which was designed to reflect the distillery’s character, in domestic retail markets in February this year.
Steve White, Diageo marketing director for global travel and Middle East (GTME), said: “Talisker Dark Storm is… a single malt that captures the untamed spirit of a full-blown storm at sea. It is intense and powerfully flavoured, a whisky that offers an element of ‘rugged luxury’ to today’s travellers – adventurers and whisky connoisseurs alike.
“We know that shoppers in the travel retail channel are looking for innovative new flavour experiences that they can’t get anywhere else and Talisker Dark Storm meets that need perfectly. This is the kind of discovery that they will be keen to share.”
Talisker Dark Storm is the second in aseries of new releases from the Skye distillery this year. It will be available from £42 in one-litre bottles in Asia, Europe and Middle East travel retail from June.
