Bothwell Highland Fling & Golf Ball

Posted by RJS on May 9th, 2007

INant Distillery was sent an email from Greg Ramsay today, announcing an exciting upcoming event - he writes:

Hi everybody, while I’ve not yet made it along to a TWAS whisky tasting, I thought you might like to know about a whisky tasting that the doyen, Bill Lark is holding at the Bothwell Highland Fling & Golf Ball, a community fundraising event at the Bothwell Town Hall on Saturday May 26th.

Its going to be a great fun night, with celtic music from The Ranters leading the folk dancing, and probably the best value whisky tasting this side of a night locked away in the Mortlach dunnage. I’ve attached our little flyer, and really hope you can bring a few friends along - wait till you see the size of the Trout that we’ll be eating (just don’t ask where they were caught). If any of you would like to know accommodation options, please ask.

Its all part of Australian Golf Heritage Week, so if any of you are or know any golfers, or just like to dress up, the other flyer will hopefully give you some info on these events, including the National Hickory Championships at Ratho, Australia’s Oldest Golf Course.

Sincerely
Greg Ramsay

Please RSVP by Friday 18th May to info@rathogolf.com or ring 0429 238 698

Even by the multi-award-winning standards of The Glenlivet, this latest expression is a truly remarkable whisky. Outside the Cellar Collection, The Glenlivet XXV is the most mature single malt in the range and a superb example of whisky-making at its most skilled and inspired.

Johnnie Walker sale scotched

Posted by RJS on May 2nd, 2007

Ajohnnie1805.jpg RARE bottle of Johnnie Walker whisky failed to sell at auction yesterday.

Bonhams said bids fell short of the reserve price of £12,000.

The London auction house had expected the Johnnie Walker “1805″ blended whisky to reach up to £16,000.

A spokeswoman said: “The vendor may enter it into another sale with another reserve price or it may be that somebody comes along post-sale, but it is out of our hands.”

The limited edition bottle was made in 2005 for the bicentenary of John Walker’s birth.
