Quote of the day

I drink too much. The last time I gave a urine sample it had an olive in it.

New articles & contributors wanted!!!

Posted by RJS on September 25th, 2006

Well we are on the lookout for articles that are whisky related (or at least alcohol related!).

If you find any exciting articles, either send them to me (richard@twas.com.au) or if you want to, apply for a journalist position, and then you can add them yourself!

We have a domain name!

I registered a domain name for the site today - so we are officially www.twas.com.au

None of the other alternatives were available (I wanted a .org.au) as they were either registered or required copious amounts of paperwork to register.

I’ve tried these 4 over the last few weeks. The reviews (apart from my comments) came from the individual web sites.Click to view the PDF: Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Lagavulin & Laphroaig

Review - Talisker Distillers Edition

Posted by RJS on September 13th, 2006

Whisky: Talisker Distillers Edition
Age: 13 year old

Talisker whisky has a very unique flavour. When you see it in a glass you will realise that it is different. The colour is dark amber and the nose is slightly smoky.

Put it to your lips and sip and immediately you will be struck by a slightly sweet taste. There is a lovely warm sensation as it goes down and then a smoky peppery aftertaste. I find it difficult to describe really so would recommend you try it for your self!

This whisky has definitely got what I would describe as a full flavour and has quite a kick to it. With an alcohol content of 45.8% you need to treat it with respect!
