Tasmania’s premium distillers will showcase their award winning products at the Isle of Spirits event, to be held at the Tasmanian Polytechnic’s Drysdale South Campus on:
Monday 24 October 2011
from 5:30 PM.
The fourth annual Isle of Spirits sees eight of Tasmania’s leading distilleries attending, with last year’s exhibitors – Lark Distillery, Tasmanian Distillery, Whiskey Tasmania, Old Hobart Distillery and Strait Vodka – returning and joined this year by three more enthusiastic vendors – Mackey’s Distillery, Belgrove Distillery and William McHenry and Sons Distillery. Each will dazzle guests with a spectacular array of spirits and liqueur products displayed for sampling.
This year sees the advancement of the event to include a food matching master-class. Justin Harris, a former Drysdale student who has worked for businesses including the Country Club Casino and Moorilla winery, will lead a team of a number of dedicated local chefs, to prepare a gourmet dish each, using local produce, each course specifically tailored to match one of Tasmania’s unique spirit offerings.
Bill Lark, founder of Lark distilleries and winner of countless awards including a Liquid Gold Status for his single-malt whiskies, is a passionate and vocal supporter of the project. “It is a fantastic chance to showcase unique local spirits”, he says.
Limited tickets for the general tasting and master class dinner are available for purchase from the organisers and will be released on Monday 19th September.
Pricing is yet to be finalised - but stay tuned and we'll let you know as soon as we know!
